Several sources underline that, by the end of 2014, renewable resources will be exhausted: this will lead our descendants to deal with an ecological deficit, very difficult to recover!
Biodiversity fans consider unuseful to broadcast softly these data, since till now people have not yet realized that the self-destruction of this planet can be avoided only by an urgent reversal of the vaunted political logic based on re-growth of consumption, economic development and advantage of resources, as an anti-crisis prescription.
On the other side a different returnless crisis could be defeated only by reducing productivity and fuel consumption, cutting pollution and waste, replacing the loss of consumerism-related products with leisure time and genuine environmental liberty, allowing the planet to regenerate plants, atmosphere and different ways of living.
Let us realize that ideologies are now self-denying but they continue to govern us: it is imperative to replace the dominant political and increasingly rampant consumerism with a social science that endeavors to find soonest the way to create an interconnected network of self-sustainable micro-economies based on intelligent recycling, repair and recovery along with skilled crafts and practices. This is a primary urgency against our self-destruction.
So, bear in mind that it's been calculated that if the level of consumption of the entire population of Earth was now equal to that of the Americans, the ecosystem would implode next year!
